Weems credits her training from Central Piedmont Community College’s cosmetology program for a lot of her success. She joined “Positively Charlotte” along with Marcia Colson from Central Piedmont Community College to discuss how the program helped her and Central Piedmont’s Harris Campus expansion.

For Diamond Weems, it is all about a pop of color here at Lip N Pour in east Charlotte. She started her business after not finding the right lipstick to complement her skin tone. “I would stay at the beauty supply store for hours, just swiping colors on my hand. So, I went to a Sip N Paint. I was like I could do the same exact idea, just with lipstick and lip gloss,” Weems said. Since then, Weems has helped thousands of customers create the perfect color for the perfect pout.

A Charlotte makeup artist is helping Black women find the right shade of foundation and lipsticks through custom products. Diamond Weems, 33, is founder and owner of the first Black-owned custom blend franchise, Lip N Pour, a cosmetic experience where customers learn how to make their own foundation, lipsticks and body butter, a new class she added in October.
